Daniel Cortez represents Wichita Falls High in the Oil Bowl

Wichita Falls High School's Senior Linebacker Daniel Cortez was chosen to represent the Coyotes in the 71st Annual Oil Bowl All-Star game. The Oil Bowl fields some of the top high school athletes from Texas against some of the best in Oklahoma. Texas holds a commanding 44-17-1 lead over their Red River neighbors.

Cortez, a defensive leader on the Code Red defense finished with 121 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 3 interceptions and 1 recovered fumble as the 8-4 Coyotes also avenged their 2006 first round playoff loss to Birdville in the 2007 first round.
